Members and Associate Members of the Society are eligible for a range of benefits. Principal among them is the ability to have a direct say in how the Society is managed and to take responsibility for developing its interests in an area that might be of particular interest to you and your employer or partners.
Membership also brings significant discounts on the fees payable for courses, conferences, webinars and publications.
For those who wish to develop their careers in a more formal way, the Society offers a Certificate Course in Facilities Management through online learning. The Certificate is recognised by The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) as an approved qualification for entry to the Associate class of membership. Applicants for the Certificate Course should have a minimum of five years’ experience in facilities management and have achieved a position that carries with it some managerial duties and responsibilities.
The Society has been an active supporter of the ProFM® Credential, which is available in two modes: fully online with Tutor support or a mix of classroom-based intensive study with online support before and after the classroom session. The ProFM® Credential is backed-up with extensive learning materials which learners are able to retain to support them in their ongoing career development.
